Newsletter 5th of June 2025
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Just keeping you updated on events happening in the school.
The testing is almost complete and you will be receiving your school reports
soon.
Your child will be allocated his/her teacher for next year very shortly. The
school will be supplying books, workbooks and copies. The teachers for next
year will give your child a stationery list, which you can purchase over the
summer. We remind you that if you have any unused copies or notebooks, you can keep
them for next year. Similarly keep your Music folder and tin whistle for next
year.
We have Active Schools Week and Friendship Week taking place in the school from June 16th
to 20th. There will be lots of surprises and activities for the children. We are asking each
child to pay €5 towards the activities. You can pay online or to class teacher. We hope the
children have an enjoyable week.
Sports Day will be on Tuesday June 17th. Juniors – 2nd
class will be at the school while 3rd- 6th classes will be at the G.A.A. Club (more details
nearer the time).
School Tours are taking place next week too. We hope all the children have safe, enjoyable
trips.
On Friday June 13th we are welcoming the students who will be starting in Junior Infants in
September with us. We hope they will be very happy in our school as they embark in a new
chapter in their lives.
On Monday June 23rd we invite parents of our 6th class to join us in a graduation ceremony in
the School Hall at 7.30p.m. for the children as they mark the end of their primary school
education. We hope as many as possible can attend.
We are going to have a "Swop and Drop " Uniform Day in the hall on Friday June 20th at 2-
4p.m. If you have any uniform jumpers and shorts that are in good condition (and gone too
small for your child ) you might be able to swop them with another child. If interested you
can go the designated area for your child's age group. For those in 6th class with no siblings
you might consider donating the uniform (if in good condition ) to the school. Thanking you
in advance. To participate is optional.
Our Creative Schools Committee have organised a Creative Art Trail around the school.
You are invited to follow this trail on Friday June 20th, 2-4p.m. Everybody is welcome.
Our AR Team would like to thank those who sent in lots of reading books. We were
delighted with the responses. If any of you have books suitable for 4th class upwards we
would be most grateful if you donated them.
We would like to congratulate the Green Schools Committee on receiving our 6th Green Flag
on the Theme of Biodiversity. Well done to everyone involved in this. We hope to have a
little ceremony to raise the flag on Wednesday June 25th at 1.30p.m in the school grounds.
Parents and guardians welcome to attend.
We thank you for your co-operation in the traffic management plan at busy times of
collecting and dropping off children.
We remind you that the children will be active in school for the next few weeks. We ask that
the children do not wear crocs or sandals to school. We would like them to wear
comfortable/suitable footwear/runners to participate safely in planned activities over the next
few weeks.
We were asked to share these two camps.
